Stacktide
One control plane for CI/CD, secrets and Terraform.
Stacktide sets up GitLab or GitHub pipelines for your projects, keeps their variables and secrets in one place, and plans your Terraform on every merge request. Your own CI does the work, so it never holds a cloud credential.
How it works
3 steps- 01
Import.
Connect GitLab or GitHub and import your projects. Stacktide reads each repository’s file paths to find Bun, Node, Docker, Terraform and more.
- 02
Sync.
Keep variables and secrets in one place, sealed at rest. Stacktide syncs them to every environment that needs them.
- 03
Ship.
Terraform is planned on each merge request and applied by your own pipeline. Promote a build or roll it back, with an approval for protected environments.
What you get
Open sourcePipelines in one merge request
Pick a template, such as docker-deploy, and get one merge request holding the pipeline, linted first.
Variables in folders
References between variables, version history and rotation. Secrets are sealed with a key only you hold.
Sync to where they are needed
GitLab CI variables, GitHub Actions, HashiCorp Vault, AWS Parameter Store and Kubernetes.
Terraform on every merge request
Terraform, OpenTofu and Terragrunt stacks, with drift checks, policy and cost limits before an apply.
No cloud credentials
Your CI does the work. A job trades its own identity token for a short-lived Stacktide token.
Sign in the way your team does
GitLab, GitHub or your own identity provider. Roles come from GitLab or GitHub membership.
Run it yourself
No account. No licence key. There is no account to create, no licence key to paste and no plan to pick. It is open source and free to use.
You need
- Docker with Compose v2
- A GitLab or GitHub where you can register an OAuth application
- A host name with TLS in front of the machine
git clone https://github.com/ChxisB/Stacktide.gitcd Stacktidecp deploy/.env.example deploy/.envdocker compose -f deploy/compose.yml up -d --buildFill in deploy/.env before the last command: a database password, a master key you keep somewhere other than this machine, and your GitLab or GitHub application. Then open your host and sign in. The guide covers every setting.
Free, and staying free.
Stacktide is open source and free to use. There are no plans, no seats and no licence keys. If Stacktide saves you time, you can say thanks with a coffee.
